Themes: To appreciate Challenge of the Highand

This yearly national level event is the 6th edition and as one of the main activities under the program of Zon Rekreasi Mendaki Rakan Muda IPT; particularly setup as a means of developing and encouraging the young generations to practice a good healthy life through various recreational activities besides promulgate the vitality of awareness in preserving the mother nature.

Generally, the competition which offer more than RM 6800 cash and hampers prizes to be won is divided into three main categories; the male open, female open and IPT open. The event will take place on the early days of 17th September 2000 starting from the Empangan Pangsoon at Hulu Langat Selangor. This extremely adventurous mount climbing competition requires a great balance of both physical and mental strength as all participants will have to climb till the peak of Mount Nuang (4990 ft above sea level) and try to climb down back to the starting checkpoint at the Empangan Pangsoon. Throughout the competition, participants will go through some challenging part of Mount Nuang where they have to pass the steep and slippery route as well as several natural streams before they could be crown as the champion. As the participants struggling to face the challenge above, some 120 volunteers will play their role in the Love Our Nature Campaign; presenting themselves before a talk of the necessity to preserve our nature as well as cleaning the routes and campsite area. The campaign, which engage several private corporate, and institutions like _____________________ as the sponsor indicate their concern on the issue.
